HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We are so glad that you have made the choice to join us today for the 72nd anniversary of the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, one of college football’s greatest traditions.
These are exciting times for our bowl game and the future has never been brighter. Last February, by unanimous vote, our Board of Directors made the decision to move the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic to the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington beginning in January, 2010.
Without question, this was a landmark moment in our game’s 71- year history. Moving the AT&T Cotton Bowl to the finest football stadium in the world will preserve the Classic’s legacy, and at the same time, secures its future.
While it was the right decision, nonetheless it was one that didn’t come easy. Cotton Bowl Stadium has been our home since J. Curtis Sanford founded the game in 1937. However, through careful evaluation, our board determined that a move to the new stadium will remove all weather concerns, keep the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic competitive in the changing environment of college football, and provide a spectacular world-class facility for our players, fans and corporate partners.
As one of America’s original post-season bowl games, the AT&T
Cotton Bowl Classic is proud of its rich tradition that has been crafted by many legendary players, coaches and administrators. Today, we add another chapter to this remarkable history.
Our bowl game would not be what it is today without the unwavering support of our title sponsor, AT&T Inc. This is our 12th year with AT&T and our partnership is recognized as one of the longest-standing title sponsorships among all the bowls. We are deeply grateful for the strong commitment of Chairman/CEO Randall Stephenson and his dedicated employees at AT&T.
FOX Sports, the network of the Bowl Championship Series, has been our television home for the past 10 years and will continue to televise our game through 2010 and beyond. Ed Goren and his staff at FOX are committed to sharing the AT&T Cotton Bowl “experience” with millions of football fans watching at home from coast-to-coast.
There are two other partnerships that are vital to our game’s success. Since 1999, the passionate fans of the Big 12 Conference and Southeastern Conference have been treated to some unforgettable moments by teams from these two premier conferences. We salute Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe and SEC commissioner Mike Slive for their continued support.
Now, with kickoff quickly approaching, our football celebration is ready to begin. On behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, thank you for supporting the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. Best wishes for a happy and successful 2008.
ENJOY THE GAME!

Chairman, Cotton Bowl Athletic Association
